Chewing Your Food Increases Mental Health - Study

Everyone knows that eating well and having a good diet promotes a good healthy living, but not everybody knows that the act of chewing food might greatly help to prevent your mental functioning decline as you grow older.
Researchers have made us to understand that those who have practice the act of chewing to their golden age are more able to retain their brain functions also.
This research was done when over 500 adults volunteered (age 75 and above) and were given solid food which were chewable and were observed over a period of time. Then, they were also given tests in form of questionnaires to test their skills.
However, their was a big correlation in difficulty chewing and those whose mental ability has declined.
Other researches have also complimented the finding above, such as a research related to this was also carried out in Kentucky, College of Medicine and Dentistry; and similar results where observed.
Although, medical practitioners and researchers might be puzzled about how chewing food may increase brain functions, but medical scientists know that, it helps to increase blood flow and oxygen to the brain. We all know how important proper oxygen and blood flow are to the brain. Without these two components, some neurological diseases will set it(such as Alzheimer's disease, Dementia, Schizophrenia etc).

It is very important to note that, healthy eating is good for general well being. And taking lots of nutritional supplements are especially good. Supplements that are good anti-oxidants(such as Aloe vera, Vitamin C) can help to decrease free radicals or antigens that can reduce brain functioning.
In all, quit smoking, excessive alcohol should be discouraged, exercise daily, and think positive.
